General Motors says the 2026-model-year GMC Hummer EV lineup is headed to South Korea, marking the nameplate’s first official appearance in the country and, at the same time, a pivotal step in GMC’s relaunch and expansion there. The brand is leaning into electrification and, tellingly, is starting with its most attention-grabbing model. Both body styles — the pickup and the SUV — are slated for Korea. The company presents the Hummer EV as a technology showcase: a fully electric powertrain, four-wheel steering to boost maneuverability, and the signature CrabWalk and King Crab modes that make this heavyweight feel unexpectedly agile in tight city spaces and on challenging surfaces. The rollout plan is already mapped out. From December 19 to 28, 2025, Seoul will host a series of “Hummer in the City” events in popular neighborhoods. Official photo shoots will run in parallel, and January 2026 will bring a photo contest based on the campaign’s materials. The formal market launch is set for the first quarter of 2026, when the Hummer EV steps in as the flagship of GMC’s electric lineup in the country.
