Gunther Werks' Gemini Commission: an 850-hp Porsche 911 on a widened 993 with a 4.0L Rothsport flat-six, refined aero and bespoke cabin; Turbo Program $850k.

Gunther Werks has unveiled its latest Turbo Program build, the Gemini Commission—a rare case where an 850-hp Porsche 911 comes across not as brash, but almost aristocratic. As with the brand’s other projects, it’s based on a 993 chassis, yet the body is substantially widened and paired with serious aero: a vented hood helps cut lift, while the fender “gills” improve cooling and stability. Set against that, the muted gray paint is a bold move—it doesn’t shout, instead drawing attention to the surfacing and the details.

The exterior details keep the same calm rhythm: CNC-machined mirror stalks and door handles wear a gray finish, and the wheels nod to the 993 Turbo while adopting modern geometry and a white-gold-style sheen. Inside, carbon fiber still sets the tone, warmed up by Italian leather inserts in a rich tangerine shade that makes the cabin feel more tailored than techy.

The neat twist is the split theme for the two front seats: the driver’s side uses Japanese denim with orange stitching, while the passenger gets leather. Even the instruments back up the idea, with a tachometer ringed in orange and gray bezels for the rest.

The hardware is no less striking. A rear-mounted 4.0-liter Rothsport flat-six uses a horizontal fan for more even cooling and a clean presentation. The turbos breathe through side intakes, there’s charge cooling, and individual throttle bodies for each cylinder: 600 hp in normal mode and up to 850 hp in Track Mode. On paper, the package promises the kind of response and stamina that suit the car’s understated look.

Pricing for this specific example hasn’t been disclosed, but the Turbo Program starts at about $850,000.
