Honda Motor has announced it will adopt a redesigned H mark as the new symbol representing Honda’s automobile business.

First introduced in 1963 as the badge for Honda cars, the H has long served as a signifier for the brand’s vehicles and activities, even as its look evolved over the decades.

The logo refresh arrives alongside the development of next-generation electric vehicles, including the Honda 0 series. Honda says the updated H underscores its commitment to a broader transformation: moving beyond its origins, continually setting new challenges, and pursuing progress. Shaped to evoke two outstretched hands, the mark is intended to reflect a push to expand the possibilities of mobility and genuinely meet the needs of Honda’s automotive customers. The open, human-centred motif feels contemporary yet respectful of the brand’s heritage.

The new H will appear on next-generation EVs and new hybrids (HEVs), beginning with models slated for market introduction in 2027 and beyond. Rolling it out with that wave should create a clear line between the legacy lineup and the coming era of electrified models.

Honda also plans to extend the updated emblem across its wider automobile business, not just on vehicles but at customer touchpoints such as dealerships, communications, and motorsports. A unified visual identity across these fronts is likely to make the transition more visible and coherent for buyers.
