Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for the new-generation CLA family, specifically the C178 series hybrid models. The recall affects vehicles with a 48-volt system wiring harness that was incorrectly connected, which can cause excessive heat buildup. This poses a fire hazard and increases the risk of electric shock.

All vehicles involved in this recall campaign are equipped with the four-cylinder M252 engine. It applies to all variants of the family, including the CLA 180, CLA 200, CLA 220, and the all-wheel-drive CLA 200 4MATIC and CLA 220 4MATIC models.

These cars were produced between November 17, 2025, and December 19, 2025. Globally, 1,682 vehicles are affected, with only 84 of them located in Germany.

Mercedes-Benz will contact the owners of the recalled vehicles directly and fix the issue at no cost.
