At the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show, where SPEEDME.RU journalists are on the ground, Haval unveiled the updated second-generation Xiaolong MAX in a new signature shade called Donglai Purple (Eastern Purple). Pricing starts at 116,800 yuan, and in China attractive trade-in programs and subsidies can bring the outlay down for buyers. The headline feature of this version is the Donglai Purple finish. The paint is applied via an eight-stage process using eco-friendly waterborne materials, with antistatic cleaning and robotized spraying accurate to the micron. This approach delivers corrosion resistance for up to 12 years and UV protection of up to 99.98%. It’s paintwork that aims for substance as much as show.By size, the Xiaolong MAX lands in the midsize SUV segment: 4,780 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, 1,725 mm tall, with a 2,810 mm wheelbase. The design keeps Haval’s signature look with a bold grille and stretched LED headlights, while the new color adds a premium touch. The proportions come across as planted and cohesive.Technically, the model uses Haval’s second-generation Hi4 hybrid system with on-demand all-wheel drive. It pairs a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (85 kW, 140 N·m) with a rear-axle electric motor (150 kW). Combined output reaches 238 kW and 595 N·m, promising confident responses. Mixed CLTC consumption is just 4.2 L/100 km, and electric-only range varies from 110 to 165 km depending on the battery version. All told, the Haval Xiaolong MAX stands out not only with its vivid style but also with its blend of efficiency and strong specifications, making it one of the show’s noteworthy debuts.
