Jaguar is continuing development of its new electric flagship, known as the Type 00. Prototypes are undergoing testing in northern Sweden where temperatures hover around -17°C. About 150 vehicles have been deployed for these trials.

The upcoming electric car is built on a new platform and represents a radical transformation for the brand. Jaguar has abandoned its previous model lineup and now aims to focus on the more expensive segment, competing with premium models from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Bentley, and Rolls-Royce.

According to preliminary data, the vehicle will feature three electric motors: one on the front axle and two on the rear. Their combined power output is around 1,050 horsepower, with torque exceeding 1,300 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just over three seconds, while top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

The electric car is equipped with a battery of approximately 120 kWh capacity using an 800V architecture. Its WLTP range exceeds 700 km, and fast charging supports up to 350 kW.

At about 5.2 meters in length with a wheelbase of 3.2 meters, the vehicle weighs roughly 2.8 tonnes. To improve handling despite this mass, developers have incorporated all-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension, and a steerable rear axle.

Jaguar expects this model to become one of the main highlights at auto shows and a symbol of the brand's new strategy in the luxury electric vehicle segment.
