Official data for the new BYD Yuan Plus electric crossover has been released in China. The information appeared in the database of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, where manufacturers register new models before market launch.

According to the published figures, the vehicle has grown significantly in size. Its body now measures 4665 mm in length, 1895 mm in width, and 1675 mm in height, with a wheelbase reaching 2770 mm.

For comparison, the current version of the model is 4455 mm long, making the new iteration roughly 20 centimeters longer. The front-end design retains the key characteristics of the previous Yuan Plus, but its lines have moved closer to the style of BYD's flagship models.

Reports also indicate that a lidar system will appear on the options list, which could point to expanded driver assistance features. The new electric crossover will offer two powertrain variants. The electric motor's maximum power will be 200 kW or 240 kW, depending on the version. The model is also expected to be equipped with a second-generation Blade battery.

According to the manufacturer, this battery system supports ultra-fast charging: it can charge from 10% to 70% in approximately five minutes. Furthermore, even at temperatures around -20 degrees Celsius, the battery can charge to about 97% in roughly 12 minutes.

BYD continues to aggressively strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market. The increased dimensions, new charging technologies, and potential addition of lidar show that Chinese manufacturers are competing more seriously for a spot among the best vehicles in the electric crossover segment.
