Kia has officially announced pricing and trim levels for its new compact electric crossover, the EV2. The electric vehicle is now available for order in Europe, with a starting price of €26,600. At 4.06 meters long, this new model is one of the brand's most affordable EVs.Despite its compact dimensions, the manufacturer promises a spacious interior and technology features on par with more expensive models. The car comes with a panoramic display, LED lighting, climate control, and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems.The Kia EV2 is built on the E-GMP electric platform, which also underpins larger models from the brand. Buyers can choose between two battery options. The base 42.2 kWh battery delivers a WLTP range of up to 317 km, while the larger 61 kWh unit extends that to 453 km. DC fast charging at up to 118 kW can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes. Additionally, the EV2 is the first Kia to support AC charging at up to 22 kW.The model will be offered in four trims: Light, Air, Earth, and GT-Line. Production of the new EV is taking place at Kia's European plant in Žilina, Slovakia, with first deliveries scheduled to begin in April.The affordable EV segment is becoming crucial for automakers.
