The Freelander brand will officially return to the market on March 31st. This new venture is part of the collaborative strategy between Chery and Jaguar Land Rover and will focus on the electric vehicle segment.

A New Brand and Strategy

Freelander will become a separate brand, independent from the current Chery and JLR lineups. Vehicle production will be established at a plant in Changshu, and the models will target both the Chinese market and exports.

The project involves creating a new business model that combines the technology of the Chinese manufacturer with the premium image of the British brand.

Technology and the First Model

The first Freelander model will be a large SUV built on the Chery E0X platform. The vehicle will feature fully electric versions as well as extended-range options.

Level 2 driver assistance systems and air suspension have also been announced, indicating a premium positioning for the brand.
