GMC is preparing an updated full-size SUV, the Yukon, for the 2027 model year with an expanded engine lineup. According to registration documents, the model will feature four engine options, including a new supercharged unit. This refers to a 6.2-liter V8 with a mechanical supercharger, previously available only for the Cadillac Escalade-V. It produces 682 horsepower and 885 Nm of torque, which could become a key differentiator for top-tier versions of the SUV.In addition, the lineup will retain naturally aspirated V8 engines of 5.3 and 6.2 liters, as well as a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel. The new engine is expected to be available for the Denali Ultimate version and possibly for the off-road AT4 Ultimate variant with all-wheel drive. The AT4 is geared towards off-road use and already includes underbody protection, 20-inch wheels with off-road tires, and an air suspension that increases ground clearance by 51 mm. This move allows GMC to enhance the model's capabilities by blending power with off-road performance.
