Mercedes-Benz is boosting the technological capabilities of its flagship models with the introduction of a new Maybach S-Class featuring a multimodal artificial intelligence system. This development was created in collaboration with the Chinese company Zhipu and Tsinghua University.

What the new AI can do

The main innovation is the integration of a multimodal model that understands not only voice but also visual and audio signals. The system analyzes data from cameras and microphones to create a more "lively" and personalized user experience.

This AI is built into the rear multimedia system, which is designed for business-class passengers. This marks the first application of such technology specifically in the rear-seat segment.

A next-generation digital cabin

The 2027 Maybach features the MB.OS architecture and up to eight screens inside the cabin. Control is handled through voice commands, sensors, and intelligent interfaces.

This configuration transforms the vehicle into a full-fledged digital space where interaction with the system becomes as natural as possible.

Why this matters for the market

The implementation of Chinese AI highlights the intensifying competition in the world's largest automotive market. Manufacturers are actively adopting technologies to attract tech-savvy buyers.

In the luxury car segment for 2026, software solutions and artificial intelligence are becoming key competitive factors. Ultimately, Mercedes demonstrates that the future of premium vehicles lies not only in engine performance and comfort but also in an intelligent ecosystem.
