Audi has emerged as the leader among premium brands in safety performance. In the latest round of IIHS testing, six of the brand's models earned the highest rating of Top Safety Pick+.

Six Models with Top Ratings

The list includes the 2026 Audi A5, Q5, and Q5 Sportback, along with the new 2027 electric vehicles—the A6 Sportback e-tron, Q6 e-tron, and Q6 Sportback e-tron. This covers several key segments, from sedans to crossovers.

This demonstrates Audi's systematic approach to safety, extending technologies across both traditional models and its electric lineup.

Stricter IIHS Requirements

In 2026, the IIHS tightened its evaluation criteria. Now, even to earn a basic rating, a vehicle must achieve the highest score in the frontal crash test with partial overlap.

For the Top Safety Pick+ level, high results in pedestrian protection and collision avoidance systems are also required. Additionally, all safety systems must be standard across all trim levels.

Electric Vehicles Reach New Heights

The inclusion of e-tron models is particularly significant. It shows that Audi's electric vehicles already meet the most stringent safety requirements.

For the market, this sends an important signal: the shift to electric power does not compromise protection levels but instead becomes part of a comprehensive safety approach.

Overall, Audi strengthens its position in the premium segment, making safety a key competitive factor alongside technology and design.
