A 2016 Pagani Huayra hypercar set a new record at the Palm Beach auction, selling for $3.19 million. It became the most expensive car ever sold at this event, despite being nearly 10 years old and showing 3,751 km on the odometer.

Auction record

The car was the headline lot at the Barrett-Jackson sale and exceeded expert expectations. Pagani built just 100 Huayra examples, making every car exceptionally rare. The car sold here was No. 93 in the series, delivered new to the United States and preserved in its original configuration, including the branded luggage set.

Engineering and details

The Huayra is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 from Mercedes-AMG. Output stands at 720 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, figures that still place it firmly in hypercar territory even by current standards.

The sprint to 100 km/h takes about 3 seconds, while top speed reaches 370 km/h. A lightweight carbon-titanium body keeps weight to around 1,350 kg.

The interior emphasizes hand craftsmanship, with carbon fiber, aluminum and custom-tailored leather, along with the signature of founder Horacio Pagani.

Collector car values keep rising

The average value of a Pagani Huayra today stands at around $3.15 million, while rare versions can exceed $4.5 million. This result confirms steady demand for limited-production hypercars.

Even with newer and more powerful models on the market, the Huayra retains its status as both an icon and an investment-grade automobile. For collectors, performance is only part of the story — provenance, production numbers and condition matter just as much.
