At the 2026 Beijing motor show, Avatr presented the Vision Xpectra — not a production electric car, but a statement of intent for a new phase of Chinese premium mobility. SPEEDME journalists filmed the concept on the brand’s stand: a nearly 5.84-metre low grand tourer with an enclosed body, a vast glass cabin, coach doors and a futuristic interior. The Avatr Vision Xpectra marked the Asian premiere of a concept previously shown in Europe. The images make the core design idea clear: the car appears as a monolithic capsule, with a long bonnet, an almost horizontal beltline and an expansive transparent roof. The front end has no conventional grille, while the lighting follows Avatr’s signature two-tier treatment. The concept was created under chief designer Nader Faghihzadeh. As SPEEDME’s experts found, Vision Xpectra features a “panoramic prismatic cabin”, an interactive centre behind the main screen and an interior using unusual materials, including inflatable elements and 3D-knitted surfaces. Visually, this is no longer just a car, but an attempt to turn premium transport into an emotional space.Avatr has not yet disclosed precise powertrain specifications, but the dimensions are known: the concept is around 5.84 m long, 2.13 m wide and 1.41 m high, with a 3.45 m wheelbase. By comparison, that makes it larger than most production executive sedans and closer to a new-generation flagship Gran Turismo.Avatr is a premium brand linked to Changan and CATL, with Huawei acting as a key technology partner for intelligent systems, electronics and software. In Beijing, the brand also said future models would be among the first to receive Huawei Qiankun ADS 5, HarmonySpace 6 and new CATL solutions, including advanced battery technologies. The Avatr Vision Xpectra does not look like a car that will be available in a showroom tomorrow. It is a show car, but its role is more practical than it may first appear: it previews the second stage of the brand’s design. According to Avatr, elements of the Vision Xpectra’s DNA will be used in the brand’s future production vehicles.
