Volkswagen has unveiled in China an anniversary Tayron crossover, the 30-million Special Edition. It comes in two trims: the 300 TSI at 198,900 yuan and the 330 TSI at 208,900 yuan. The series refreshes the 2025 model and will be sold alongside the new Tayron L.

Visual and cabin tweaks are restrained. The body keeps its dimensions (4593×1860×1665 mm; wheelbase 2731 mm), and the palette is limited to Polar White and Manganese Black. Inside, there is a 12-inch touchscreen and leather seats, while the options list now adds surround-view cameras, a Transparent Chassis system, and a Bluetooth key—an emphasis on everyday convenience rather than radical change.

Under the hood, buyers can choose between a 1.5T engine rated at 118 kW and a low-output 2.0T at 137 kW. Both are paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission featuring a wet clutch.

This anniversary edition underscores the Tayron’s standing in China’s midsize crossover market. The added equipment and current tech make it appealing to those looking for a sensible mix of price, practicality, and modern features, and the overall package suggests Volkswagen is aiming to keep the model relevant with targeted upgrades rather than a sweeping overhaul.
