Total protection: the new Hyundai Palisade 2026 takes the top safety prize

The new Hyundai Palisade 2026 model year (built after November 2025) has been awarded the highest honor of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) — the TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) designation.

The 2026 Palisade scored high marks across every safety criterion: tests on moderate and small front overlap collisions, side impact, pedestrian front crash prevention, as well as the updated vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention test introduced last year.

The TOP SAFETY PICK+ award goes only to vehicles that meet the IIHS’s strict criteria, including tougher requirements for crash protection and occupant safety — particularly for second-row passengers.

All 2026 Hyundai vehicles come equipped with six standard SmartSense safety features: Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Occupant Alert (based on door-opening logic), and High Beam Assist.
