The current BMW 4 Series and M4 could remain on the market longer than expected. According to well-known insider ynguldyn, as reported by Bmwblog, production of the G22 4 Series Coupe, G23 4 Series Convertible, G82 M4 Coupe, and G83 M4 Convertible may be extended until mid-2029.

The report notes that this outlook is based on BMW model data rather than information from individuals, which means the production plans for these cars could still change.

Unlike brands tied to rigid ICE or EV product cycles, BMW can adjust production timelines without tearing everything up and starting from scratch. If demand for combustion models stays steady, the company can keep building cars like the M4. Should electrification move faster than expected, BMW can pivot to the Neue Klasse. That kind of flexibility comes across as a pragmatic hedge, giving buyers a sense of continuity while the market shows its hand.
