At the Chengdu Auto Show, Audi confirmed the market debut of the new all-electric E5 Sportback. Developed in partnership with SAIC, the model is slated to go on sale on September 16, 2025. Pricing will span from 235,900 to 319,900 yuan (roughly 2.65–3.6 million rubles), with preorders already open.

The E5 Sportback leans into the brand’s familiar elegance with a wagon-inspired fastback profile. Its front end is closed off, integrating the headlights and an illuminated AUDI emblem for a clean, modern look. Dimensions come in at 4881 x 1960 x 1479 mm with a 2950 mm wheelbase, placing it squarely in the mid-size EV segment.

Inside, the cabin is centered on a panoramic display that merges the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen. An option with electronic mirrors will also be available. Soft-touch materials and a minimalist layout underline a premium character, and the overall design reads as thoughtful rather than showy.

The powertrain lineup includes single-motor versions rated at 299 hp and 408 hp, plus an all-wheel-drive dual-motor setup with either 525 hp or 787 hp. Depending on configuration, claimed range is 623, 647, or 773 km under China’s CLTC cycle. The suspension features an adaptive CDC system and air elements with height adjustment of up to 45 mm, a package that suggests breadth between comfort and composure.

The Audi E5 Sportback targets buyers who want a mix of practical body style, upscale comfort, and up-to-date tech. In a mid-size EV arena where Chinese brands are sharpening their game, this blend looks well judged to bolster the four-ring marque’s position.
