Geely takes its Chinese best-seller to Brazil — EX2 rolls off the line in Paraná

Geely has started serial production of the EX2 electric hatchback in Brazil. The model, sold in China under the Xingyuan nameplate, is now being built at the Ayrton Senna Complex in the state of Paraná by the Renault Geely do Brasil joint venture.

This is Geely’s second locally produced model in the country, following the EX5 EM-i hybrid crossover. The EX2 launched on the Brazilian market in November 2025, and surging demand pushed the company to move it from imported novelty to local assembly. The shift reduces reliance on shipments from China and raises the brand’s profile in Latin America’s biggest car market.

In China, the car has long been one of the leading small EVs. Retail sales reached 465,775 units in 2025, and in May 2026 the model topped the passenger vehicle rankings with 38,751 cars, ahead of the Tesla Model Y. The updated Chinese version received a limited-time starting price of 61,800 yuan (about $9,100).

Geely is building more than just a production base in Brazil — it is investing in visibility. In April the brand became the first Chinese automaker to sign on as the official automotive sponsor of Big Brother Brasil, one of the country’s most-watched TV shows.

Earlier, at the Motor Show 2025 international auto salon in Minsk, a new electric Geely EX2 of Belarusian assembly was unveiled. According to representatives of BelGee, the model’s starting price on the local market is 44,900 BYN. Sales have already begun.
