Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 4MATIC electric 2026: Australia price, range, and specs

The electric Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 4MATIC has launched in Australia at $112,200 before on-road costs — just $7,100 more than the petrol-powered GLC 300 4MATIC, priced from $105,100.

The new model pairs two electric motors with all-wheel drive and a two-speed reduction gear on the rear axle. The system produces 360 kW (489 hp) and 800 Nm, taking the crossover to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The front motor can disengage under light load to cut energy use.

A 94.4 kWh usable battery delivers up to 630 km on the WLTP cycle in Australian specification. The 800-volt architecture supports DC fast charging at up to 330 kW: ten minutes on a charger can add roughly 300 km of range. Maximum AC charging power is 22 kW.

The electric GLC 400 4MATIC made its debut in Munich with a claimed 637 km of WLTP range, so the gap with the Australian-spec 630 km likely comes down to wheel choice and local configuration.

Standard equipment on the Australian car includes AMG Line trim, memory sport seats, the Magic Sky Control panoramic roof and the MBUX Superscreen. The 39.1-inch Hyperscreen remains optional. Boot space is 570 litres, with a further 128 litres in the front trunk.

800-volt technology has an infrastructure catch: some common 400-volt stations need a special converter. We previously covered an adapter from Mercedes that lets the GLC charge on such networks, but it caps power at 100 kW.

The premium over the petrol GLC is modest, but option packages quickly add to the total: the Luxury Package alone costs another $8,200.
