Maserati GT2 Stradale Tribute to MC12: One-Off Fuoriserie Build, 640 HP, Vitaphone Livery

Maserati has handed over a one-off GT2 Stradale “Tribute to MC12” to a collector from Taiwan, built by the automaker’s Fuoriserie personalization division — the same division that recently built the MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926 for the brand’s centenary. The car was unveiled at Maserati’s headquarters in Modena, and the company has not announced plans for a limited series.

The main link to the MC12 is the livery, inspired by the cars of the Vitaphone Racing team. The matte Digital Mint shade is paired with a Nero Essenza black body and yellow accents. It was Vitaphone’s MC12 GT1 cars that won the 24 Hours of Spa in 2005, 2006 and 2008, and took second place in 2007 and 2009.

This is the first GT2 Stradale to get a glossy finish on its carbon-fiber aerodynamic parts. The car also features a large rear wing, center-lock wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes with yellow calipers and the Performance Plus package. Inside are Alcantara-trimmed seats, four-point harnesses and a dedicated Tribute to MC12 plaque.

This isn’t a technical transformation of the GT2 Stradale into a modern MC12. Maserati isn’t claiming any extra power for the Tribute: the 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno makes 640 hp, sprints the car to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and lets it top 320 km/h. The standard GT2 Stradale’s official catalog top speed is 324 km/h.

Maserati isn’t disclosing the price of the custom order. The surcharge for the unique livery, glossy carbon and the Fuoriserie program’s work also remains unknown. So it’s more accurate to see this project as a showcase of personalization possibilities rather than a revival of the MC12 or the announcement of a new variant.
