Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV price in Germany 2026: volunteer discount, state subsidy and the real cost

A 21% discount brings the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV in Germany down from €49,990 to €39,490. The offer looks substantial: a volunteer saves €10,500, and together with the maximum state subsidy the advantage approaches €15,000. Yet until 30 September Mitsubishi is already running a general campaign for private buyers that puts the same entry-level Outlander at €39,990.

The gap between the two offers is therefore just €500. The main benefit of the programme is not the chance to buy the crossover for around €40,000, but a modest extra discount for people who do unpaid work for the community.

The reduction is open to members of volunteer fire brigades, rescue services, the Red Cross, the THW disaster relief agency and other officially recognised organisations. The Mitsubishi ASX comes with a 12% cut, the Grandis with 14% and the electric Eclipse Cross with 15%. The programme runs until the end of 2026 and does not automatically extend to the salaried staff of those organisations.

On paper the Outlander can fall to €34,990, but only with the maximum subsidy of €4500. That figure is made up of €3500 for a household with taxable income of up to €45,000 plus €500 per child, capped at €1000, and the car has to be kept for at least three years. The same state payments are available to buyers using the ordinary Mitsubishi campaign.

The Outlander PHEV remains one of the brand’s key models: the crossover has topped Japan’s plug-in hybrid segment for the second year running. In Germany, volunteer status shaves off another €500 — most of the advertised saving is something Mitsubishi already offers to every private customer.
