General Motors has unveiled an exclusive crossover in Brazil — the Chevrolet Tracker Caramelo. Developed in partnership with Netflix and inspired by the film of the same name about a chef and a caramel-colored dog, the model wears a bespoke Caramelo BR finish — a shade selected through an online poll of more than 22,000 dog owners across the country. The warm caramel tone nods to Brazil’s most common mixed-breed dogs, which locals affectionately call caramelo.Based on the range-topping Premier trim, the Tracker Caramelo is a one-off. Chevrolet plans to sell it via an online auction and donate the entire proceeds to the Caramelo Institute, an organization focused on animal rescue and promoting responsible pet adoption. The project forms part of a broader Chevrolet Brazil campaign that blends emotion, cinema, and care for animals. It comes across as more than a paint job — a gesture of social responsibility designed to strike a chord with millions.Initiatives like this show how the auto industry is increasingly partnering with film and philanthropy. It would be good to see similar Caramelo-style collaborations appear beyond Latin America.
