BMW 7 Series and i7 2026 India pre-orders: price, launch date and range

BMW has opened pre-orders in India for the facelifted 7 Series and the electric i7. Buyers will be offered combustion and fully electric versions. Pricing, the official launch date, deposit amount and the list of Indian trims have not been announced yet.

The facelift's world premiere took place on April 22, 2026. BMW calls it the most extensive mid-cycle update the model has received: the 7 Series is the first existing BMW model to gain a number of Neue Klasse technologies. Series production started in July at the Dingolfing plant.

The cabin gains the BMW Panoramic Vision projection panel spanning the full width of the front, a 17.9-inch central display and a separate 14.6-inch passenger screen. In the rear, the existing 31.3-inch Theatre Screen is still available, now supporting 8K video, video calls and HDMI laptop connection.

The international line-up includes three-litre petrol and diesel engines with a 48-volt starter-generator, plug-in hybrids and electric versions. However, Team-BHP confirms only ICE and electric versions for India. Whether a diesel or PHEV variant will follow cannot be treated as settled until the local spec sheet is published. BMW's Indian press site did not show a separate release on the pre-orders at the time of checking.

The i7's main technical change is sixth-generation BMW eDrive cylindrical cells. Usable battery capacity has grown by more than 10% to 112.5 kWh. Claimed range is up to 728 km for the i7 50 xDrive and up to 727 km for the i7 60 xDrive on the WLTP cycle. The flagship i7 M70 xDrive makes 680 hp and accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, though its arrival in India has not been confirmed.

SPEEDME previously covered the updated BMW i7 60 xDrive in Frozen Space Silver, when the model was still gearing up for the start of production. In a separate piece, the outlet looked at the diesel BMW 740d xDrive Nero Lusso, which shows just how much the 7 Series line-up varies between countries.

That matters especially for India. BMW classifies the current 7 Series as a locally assembled model, while the i7 and i7 M70 are imported fully built via the CBU route. Whether that split will carry over after the facelift has not been clarified yet. Pricing of the electric and petrol versions will depend directly on how the cars are sourced.
