Hyundai Elantra 2026: Korean prices, engine specs and standard equipment

The entry ticket to the new Hyundai Avante has gone up by 3.64 million won, or almost 18%. The petrol sedan now starts at 23.98 million won, roughly $16,850, according to Korean Car Blog. The outgoing 2026 Avante opened at 20.34 million won, although the comparison is not entirely direct: the 1.6-litre engine has given way to a 2.0, and the cheapest Smart trim has left the range. The new entry-level Modern is priced almost level with the same-named trim of the previous generation, which cost 23.55 million won.

Outside South Korea the car is sold as the Elantra. The eighth-generation body has stretched to 4,765 mm in length and 1,855 mm in width, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase — up by 55, 30 and 30 mm respectively. Boot capacity is quoted at 479 litres.

The naturally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol engine delivers 149 hp and about 179 Nm. The best claimed economy is 14.3 km per litre on the Korean combined cycle, or roughly 7.0 l/100 km. The three trim levels span 23.98 to 31.52 million won.

The hybrid pairs a 1.6-litre engine with an electrified transmission for a system output of 157 hp and 265 Nm. By Hyundai’s own measurements the 0 to 100 km/h sprint is 6% quicker, the 80 to 120 km/h pull improves by 17%, and efficiency on 17-inch wheels gains around 10%. Before the tax break the hybrid costs 30.42 to 36.99 million won.

Pleos Connect with a 12.9- or 14.6-inch screen is standard across the range — the same infotainment generation that arrived with the facelifted Santa Fe — while a separate 9.9-inch display sits in front of the driver. Hyundai has kept physical buttons for the climate control and the hazard lights. Standard kit includes ten airbags, over-the-air updates for the main control units and emergency braking through the park button: while P is held down, the car limits torque and applies the hydraulic brakes.

On the first day of order taking Hyundai collected 11,094 contracts, a record for the model: the seventh generation managed 10,058 cars in April 2020. The top Inspiration trim took 52% of the orders, Modern and Premium 24% each, and the hybrid share climbed from 14.8% to 27.5%.

Deliveries of the petrol cars in Korea begin in the third quarter of 2026. The hybrid follows once the eco-certification and tax paperwork are done, and Hyundai will name its final price together with the size of the incentives.
