Smart #5 BRABUS 2026: Price, Specs and Range at Chengdu Auto Show

At the Chengdu Auto Show, smart displayed one of the most unusual versions of its large crossover, the #5 — a BRABUS variant in a new matte black finish. Alongside the new paint, the stand revealed another notable change: a special price cut from 379,900 to 329,900 yuan.

At 4,705 mm long with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, the smart #5 barely resembles the compact city cars the brand used to be known for. The BRABUS version gets 21-inch Monoblock Z wheels, red brake calipers, its own aerodynamic body kit and signature red accents. On the Chengdu show car, the standout visual touch is the matte black paint — the finish that was teased ahead of the show as the new addition.

The hardware matches the looks. Two electric motors and all-wheel drive produce a combined 474 kW, or 646 hp, and 710 Nm of torque. In Launch Control mode, the crossover sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h.

It rides on an 800-volt electrical architecture with a 100 kWh traction battery. Claimed range reaches 660 km on the CLTC cycle, and peak fast-charging power is up to 420 kW. The manufacturer says a 10-80% charge takes about 15 minutes.

BRABUS here means more than a styling package. Along with the wheels and trim, the car gets four-piston fixed brake calipers, perforated discs, a dedicated BRABUS drive mode and its own synthesized sound for the electric powertrain. Inside are a sport steering wheel, black-and-red trim and BRABUS-specific details.

At 329,900 yuan — against a regular list price of 379,900 yuan — the smart #5 BRABUS shows just how far the smart brand has moved from its original small-city-car concept. The lineup now includes a five-seat SUV stretching 4.7 meters that outguns many gasoline sports cars while still covering several hundred kilometers on a single charge.
