Tesla Model Y 2025+ Super Manifold V2: what changed and how to check it by VIN

A Tesla Model Y built in Berlin on August 27 has been found with Super Manifold V2, a new revision of one of the key components in the thermal-management system. More importantly, Tesla has not officially announced a production switchover and has not published data showing a range increase or faster charging specifically because of V2. The new unit is, however, already listed in the official Model Y 2025+ service manual, which includes separate service procedures for it.

Super Manifold is not a standalone “new heat pump” but an integrated thermal-management assembly that brings together components of the refrigerant and coolant circuits and works with the Octovalve. Back in 2025, Tesla vice president of vehicle engineering Lars Moravy said V2 would be introduced gradually and would not appear on vehicles from every factory at the same time. One of the main stated advantages was higher cooling capacity, but Tesla did not provide specific energy-savings figures.

Owners have now confirmed V2 on cars from Giga Berlin. One known example was built on August 27, although there are also reports of earlier vehicles. That means it is still incorrect to say that “all new Model Y vehicles already have V2”: the exact production switchover date is unknown, and equipment can vary between individual cars.

There are two ways to check a vehicle. The new unit carries a SUPER MANIFOLD V2 marking. The second option is to open Tesla’s parts catalog and check the configuration by VIN. Specialist sources list part number 1547595-00-H for the earlier assembly and 1735000-00-A for V2.

Tesla regularly changes vehicles without tying updates to a traditional model year. For example, the refreshed Model Y received the Comfort Braking function via OTA in the spring. Super Manifold is fundamentally different because it is a physical component, so an older car cannot be turned into a V2-equipped vehicle with a software update alone.

For now, it is more accurate to describe this as new hardware with the potential for more efficient cooling rather than a proven increase in range. Tesla has published neither a new certified range figure nor a revised charging curve for V2-equipped cars. For buyers of a recent Model Y, checking the VIN and the actual configuration of the individual vehicle is therefore more useful than relying only on its build date.
