Skoda free 3D-printable accessories: Printables designs and safety advice

Skoda has released free 3D-printing designs for car accessories on Printables, with important rules on compatibility, materials and licences.

Skoda owners can now 3D-print cup holders, phone mounts, organisers and other accessories from official designs. The carmaker has opened a free library on Printables under its Simply Clever philosophy. Parts can be made on a home printer or by a printing service, but compatibility must be checked for each vehicle.

Skoda Auto announced the programme on 19 October 2026. Its engineers, designers and innovation specialists prepared the files, which users can download from the official Printables profile and adapt where the licence permits. The library will continue to grow, so the number of available designs may change.

The selection includes USB-cable holders, hooks for seat-back pockets, smartphone mounts, coin boxes, small storage compartments and cup holders. Many fit existing cabin recesses without drilling or altering the vehicle. A design described as universal, however, is not necessarily suitable for every Skoda model or generation.

Some designs target the new Epiq and Peaq electric vehicles. They include cup-holder inserts, a lower centre-console organiser, extra trays and dedicated mounts. A Peaq cup holder attaches to a folding table and accommodates drinks of different sizes. Skoda says customer suggestions inspired some of these solutions.

The programme also covers older vehicles. Skoda says some designs fit discontinued models, giving owners another way to obtain practical accessories. Before printing, they should read the file description, verify its dimensions and check that the mounting points match their particular interior.

Material selection is important. PLA, one of the most common 3D-printing plastics, can deform when it becomes hot. A cabin parked in direct sunlight can reach temperatures high enough to soften certain printed items. The chosen material therefore needs to suit the mounting location, expected load and operating temperature.

Particular care is required with the Top Tether hook design. It is intended to hold light objects in the boot using an unused attachment point. It is not a substitute for the factory child-seat anchor and must not interfere with that anchor. Never add objects to an attachment point being used by a child restraint.

Free downloads do not give unlimited usage rights. Users must check the licence attached to each 3D model before making items. Some licences allow personal, non-commercial use but restrict selling finished prints. The person producing the part remains responsible for the material, print settings and quality.

The scheme offers Skoda owners a new way to personalise their cars without buying ready-made branded accessories. Its value will depend on library growth, vehicle compatibility and print quality. The starting point is to select a suitable file from Skoda’s official Printables page and read the manufacturing and installation instructions carefully.

The files cost nothing to download, but the printer, filament and any workshop labour are not free. Accessories should be treated as convenience items, never as substitutes for safety-critical original equipment.
