2027 Chevrolet Silverado EV: Work Truck equipment, trims and NACS charging

The most utilitarian Chevrolet Silverado EV is about to become a little less spartan. For the 2027 model year, the Work Truck version will get heated driver and front-passenger seats as standard equipment.

This is the first time since the electric Silverado debuted for the 2024 model year that heated front seats will be standard on the WT. Until now, buyers wanting that comfort had to move up to the more expensive LT, Trail Boss or RST. For a work-focused pickup, it is a small change, but in a cold climate it is far more practical than another decorative option.

At the same time, Chevrolet is simplifying the Silverado EV lineup. The range will shrink from ten trim-and-battery combinations to seven. Work Truck will keep three choices — Standard Range, Extended Range and Max Range. LT will be offered only with Standard and Extended Range, while Trail Boss will come with Extended and Max Range.

The LT Max Range and both RST versions — Extended Range and Max Range — will disappear from the lineup. Buyers therefore get a little more standard comfort in WT, but fewer choices at the top of the range. Another change for 2027 is the move to a built-in NACS connector using the SAE J3400 standard instead of CCS1. That will allow compatible NACS charging infrastructure to be used without a separate adapter.

Official Chevrolet pricing for the 2027 Silverado EV has not yet been published. As of September 4, Chevrolet’s U.S. website still lists the 2026 model, so applying that price list to the updated pickup would be misleading.
