Changan CS55 2026 in Brazil: launch date and expected specifications

CAOA Changan will build the CS55 in Anápolis, Brazil. The market launch is planned for September 2026, while engine and transmission details remain unofficial.

CAOA Changan has confirmed the next stage of its expansion in Brazil: the CS55 crossover will be built at the group's plant in Anápolis, Goiás. In a teaser published by the brand, the vehicle carries a “Fabricado no Brasil” sticker, while its market debut is scheduled for September 2026. It will become the third locally produced model after the UNI-T and CS75.

The main technical question remains open. Brazilian media expect the CS55 to use a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine adapted to run on gasoline and ethanol. However, CAOA Changan has not officially announced the engine output or transmission type. The reported 180 hp and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission should therefore still be treated as preliminary.

For CAOA, the broader significance is clear: the CS55 fills the gap between the more style-focused UNI-T and the larger CS75, turning Changan's Brazilian range into a more complete SUV lineup. Prices, trim levels and final technical specifications are expected to be announced at the official presentation in September.
