Jeep Wrangler JL-2A: price, equipment and differences from Rubicon

$4995 looks like a serious surcharge for the retro styling of the Jeep Wrangler JL-2A. But there is an important detail behind the price: Jeep says the special edition costs only $115 more than a similarly equipped Rubicon. Orders will open in October 2026.

The arithmetic makes the offer easier to understand. The $115 difference is about 2.3% of the $4995 package price. So the JL-2A makes more sense as a factory equipment package with a small extra charge for styling inspired by the 1945 Willys CJ-2A than as nearly $5000 worth of retro tuning.

The off-road hardware matches Rubicon: the JL-2A keeps electronic front and rear differential lockers, a disconnecting front sway bar, the Rock-Trac HD four-wheel-drive system and 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires.

The main differences are in equipment and trim: 17-inch retro wheels in a Joose finish, orange tow hooks, historic Gobi and ’41 paint colors, Heritage Tan Nappa leather with Bison Brown accents and Willys-Overland badges. The package also includes remote start, an auto-dimming mirror, a universal garage-door opener and a front TrailCam with a washer.

There is therefore no reason to choose the JL-2A for extra capability over Rubicon. Its practical argument is different: a buyer who already wants these options gets a factory-built heritage edition for a minimal additional premium. If those features are not needed, the $115 figure is misleading on its own because the JL-2A package still costs $4995.
