Geely Xingrui L PLUS price, i-HEV hybrid system and specifications

Geely has opened preorders in China for the Xingrui L PLUS with a regular starting price of 125,700 yuan. Four versions are listed at 125,700, 135,700, 145,700 and 155,700 yuan. A temporary 10,000-yuan preorder discount lowers the range to 115,700–145,700 yuan.

The biggest change is underneath the body. The Xingrui L PLUS belongs to the Xingrui family, sold as Preface in export markets, and uses Geely's i-HEV system with a 1.5-liter turbo engine, two electric motors in a P1+P3 layout and an 11-in-1 integrated electric drive rated at 175 kW, or about 238 hp. It is a conventional HEV, so it does not need to be plugged into a charging station. Geely began detailing this new generation of its hybrid architecture earlier this year.

Higher trims add adaptive CCD suspension with three modes. Geely also claims 11 airbags and a stability function designed to help control the car if two tires are damaged at the same time. In the company's own testing, the sedan reached 80.2 km/h in the “moose test” and recorded a 34.4-meter braking distance from 100 km/h.

The top version gets the H5 driver-assistance suite with one lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors. It supports navigation-assisted driving on highways and in cities, as well as automated parking. A similar combination of the new i-HEV system and advanced electronics has already appeared on the hybrid Boyue L.

The new L PLUS also costs more than the regular Xingrui i-HEV in China, whose base version is priced at 104,700 yuan. Comparing regular prices before the temporary discount, the difference is 21,000 yuan, or about 20%. The L PLUS counters with a different hybrid powertrain, a more sophisticated chassis and a broader set of electronic systems.
