Toyota has released a teaser for a new supercar, with the premiere set for December 4, 2025. In the video, the company spotlights the engine note that appears to be a V8. If all goes to plan, the model will become the brand’s third supercar after the storied 2000GT and the Lexus LFA. The choice to lead with sound rather than specs subtly raises expectations.

According to Motor1, the debut will happen under the Toyota Gazoo Racing banner, a point hinted at by a GR logo displayed on a Fuji Speedway banner. The first public showing is slated for January 2025 at the Tokyo Auto Salon. It comes across as a deliberately phased reveal aimed squarely at enthusiasts.

Preliminary information points to a hybrid setup with twin turbochargers and a chassis that blends aluminum and carbon fiber. It would be the brand’s first sports hybrid engineered entirely by the Gazoo Racing division. On paper, that’s an ambitious spec with a clear performance focus.

The new supercar is set to crown the GR lineup and will likely join the field of 2026 sports cars, positioned above the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and GR86. Its arrival should bolster Toyota’s standing in the high-performance arena—exactly the kind of halo project fans have been waiting for.
