Volkswagen ID. Cross: production, battery, range and price in Spain

Volkswagen ID. Cross has moved from its launch phase into actual production. On September 18, the Landaben plant began building the electric B-segment SUV, and the first car — an ID. Cross Life with a 155 kW (211 hp) motor in Nori Green — is destined for Germany. Volkswagen says the model will be sold in 34 markets.

For the Spanish plant, this is already its second electric car: the related Škoda Epiq has been produced here since June. The same site now builds two EVs — ID. Cross and Epiq — alongside the gasoline-powered Volkswagen T-Cross and Taigo.

The ID. Cross specifications have already been disclosed. The MEB+ platform supports 85, 99 and 155 kW versions, equivalent to 116, 135 and 211 hp, as well as batteries with 37 and 52 kWh of usable capacity. Maximum range reaches 426 km on the WLTP cycle. For the 52-kWh battery, Volkswagen quotes fast charging from 10 to 80% in about 24 minutes.

For price context, the ID. Cross Life with the larger battery is available to order in Spain from €25,600. However, this is not an unconditional retail price: the offer includes Volkswagen promotions and is linked to VWFS financing, the Auto+ program and CAES.

The launch of the ID. Cross completes Landaben's transition to mixed production. Back in June, Volkswagen Navarra planned to add this model to the already launched Epiq during the final four-month period of the year, and series production has now started in September.

For Volkswagen, the important point goes beyond the exact launch date: the compact electric crossover is now produced alongside its gasoline counterpart, the T-Cross. Both models remain in the range in parallel, so it is too early to talk about the ID. Cross immediately replacing the T-Cross.
