Nissan N7 2026: price, range and September 22 update

Dongfeng Nissan is preparing to launch the updated electric N7 on September 22. For now, it is only known that this is a scheduled update expected to focus mainly on trim-level changes. That is why reports circulating on Chinese social media about specific new equipment should not yet be treated as official specifications.

The timing is notable for Nissan. In August 2025, N7 retail sales reached a peak of 10,148 units, while in August 2026 the figure fell to 928 cars — down almost 91%, or roughly elevenfold. This does not prove that the update was prompted specifically by weaker demand, but the model is entering a new phase in a very different market environment.

The current lineup includes nine versions priced from 119,900 to 158,900 yuan. Pricing for the updated range that will debut on September 22 has not yet been announced.

The current N7 uses a single front-mounted electric motor rated at either 160 or 200 kW depending on the version, while claimed range spans 510 to 635 km on the CLTC cycle. Equipment includes NISSAN OS, 15.6-inch displays, Qualcomm 8155 or 8295P chips, and a driver-assistance system developed with Momenta. Which components will carry over unchanged will become clear once the official trim table is published.

For Nissan, the N7 matters more than a routine local facelift. It is the first N-series model built on the Tianyan architecture and developed by the Chinese team, while the company also sees its Chinese production base as a source of vehicles for other markets. Nissan has previously confirmed future exports of the N7 and Frontier Pro.

The car's digital side also matters: the N7 is closely tied to the brand's app, which provides charging functions, remote commands and other services. Recent widespread owner complaints about app outages and unavailable remote functions have already shown the downside of that dependence.

That is why September 22 is worth watching less for styling than for the revised trim structure, pricing, electronics and the Momenta system. Until then, the 119,900–158,900-yuan price range and the claimed range of up to 635 km should be treated as specifications of the N7 currently on sale, not automatically carried over to the updated car.
