Citroen, now led by Xavier Chardon, is reshaping its strategy around attainable electric mobility, comfort, and everyday practicality. The brand isn’t turning into a budget carmaker, but it does want to deliver generous space and ease of use at a price that makes sense. It’s a grounded shift that plays to Citroen’s long-standing strengths.

The priority is to bring electric cars into the mainstream. The e-C3, starting at 19,990 euros with a range of about 200 km, targets daily commutes and is positioned as a symbol of mobility for all. Citroen is deliberately skipping expensive features such as remote parking control to focus on simplicity and reliability. That kind of restraint feels timely, putting real-world usefulness ahead of flashy tech.

In motorsport, the brand is planning a return—not to rallying, but to the all-electric Formula E series. The move underlines its commitment to electric power while staying true to the spirit of its most iconic models. The message is consistent: efficiency and comfort first.

Chardon also notes that going all-in on EVs carries risks, especially for commercial vehicles. He believes affordable hybrids and other transitional solutions can cut emissions without overburdening buyers. In cost-sensitive segments, that balanced route looks pragmatic and likely to win trust.
