Jeep announced the start of series production for the new-generation Compass at Stellantis’s Melfi plant in Italy. The crossover arrives with both hybrid and fully electric versions, lining up with the group’s strategy to grow its electric portfolio.

The model is built on the STLA Medium platform, the same architecture underpinning the Peugeot E-3008, Opel Grandland Electric, and the upcoming Lancia Gamma. At 4.55 meters long, the electric Compass pairs a 157 kW motor with a 74 kWh battery, with an all-wheel-drive variant rated at 276 kW slated to follow. The specification spread hints at a lineup designed to cover a wide slice of the compact SUV segment.

The Melfi line can scale up to 100% electric production depending on market demand. Compass remains a global product, with sales planned in more than 60 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. That flexibility matters as EV adoption moves at different speeds from region to region.

The electric Jeep Compass is set to be among the headline debuts at 2026 auto shows, reinforcing the brand’s position in the global crossover arena.
