South African SVI Engineering has expanded its lineup of protected vehicles, adding the Porsche Cayenne Coupe to the models available with the SVI Lite armor package. The B2-level kit is a lighter, more affordable alternative to full-size B4 and B6 solutions, aimed primarily at deterring theft and mitigating armed attacks in urban environments. As with other Lite projects, reinforcement is limited to the side doors. Concealed Kevlar panels are fitted inside, while the factory side windows are replaced with lightweight ballistic glass. A notable touch is that the windows remain fully operational—something rarely offered even by heavier armor packages. Together, the components deliver B2 protection against 9 mm handgun rounds. The extra mass is modest—under 15 kg per door—so performance across the Cayenne Coupe range, from the 260-kW entry version through the S, GTS, Turbo GT and hybrids, is barely affected. That restraint helps the SUV keep its easy, everyday character.SVI Lite pricing starts at $4,400 per door before VAT. Installation takes place at the company’s Pretoria facility and takes about two weeks.
