Abarth chose an unexpected way to mark the 65th anniversary of two world records set in 1965 by the 1000 Monoposto. Instead of rolling out a commemorative special-edition car, the brand unveiled a limited chronograph created with Italian brand Breil. Just 465 pieces will be made at €399 each — noticeably more attainable than most automotive chronographs.

Back in 1965, Carlo Abarth piloted a lightened 1000 Monoposto to acceleration records over a quarter mile and 500 meters in Category G, coaxing 13.62 and 15.38 seconds from a 982-cc engine. The very next day, the single-seater received a 2.0-liter engine rated at 216 horsepower and improved the benchmarks in Category E to 11.55 and 13.37 seconds. Today, this unique car is housed at the Heritage Hub museum in Turin.

The anniversary Breil Abarth 1000 chronograph features a case made of stainless steel, carbon, and forged carbon fiber, a sapphire crystal, and Start/Stop pushers inspired by racing hardware. The caseback carries the individual number and the inscription 1965–2025, Abarth 1000, 60 anni di storia.

For brand loyalists, it’s a rare chance to connect with the legend without taking the wheel of a record-setter — a neat, well-judged tribute that puts the story on the wrist rather than in a showroom.
