Dacia has opened the order books for the refreshed 2026 Sandero, Spain’s best-selling car, now featuring a cleaner design, upgraded tech and new engines. The Stepway version has been updated too: it keeps its crossover look but gains richer equipment, a sensible evolution that plays to the model’s strengths.

The lineup spans Essential, Expression and Journey trims — all available on the Stepway as well. Even the entry Sandero brings LED headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, the Media Control infotainment system and a set of safety assists. Expression adds a 10-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while Journey introduces a digital instrument cluster, climate control, a rear-view camera and blind-spot monitors. For this price point, the spec reads more like a smart buy than a bare-bones option.

The key changes sit under the hood. The old TCe 90 is gone, replaced by a new 1.0-liter petrol TCe with 100 hp, plus an optional TCe 110 for the Stepway. There’s also the ECO-G 1.2 (120 hp) that runs on petrol or LPG, offered with either a manual gearbox or the EDC automatic. The LPG-capable option broadens the car’s appeal without complicating the range.

In Spain, prices start at 13,490 euros for the base Sandero and 15,820 euros for the Stepway. The update makes the lineup more attractive while staying true to the brand’s hallmark: keen pricing paired with better-than-expected equipment.
