While production of the Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup in its current configuration is set to end by the close of this year, owners of trucks already on the road can remain confident about ongoing support.

The manufacturer has officially reaffirmed that it will provide regular software updates. In practice, this means customers will keep receiving new features, performance refinements, and safety enhancements via remote updates through the vehicle’s onboard connectivity—an approach that helps the truck stay current without a visit to the service bay.

In addition, Ford will maintain quality service and support for F-150 Lightning owners for at least the next decade after this model’s production wraps up. The company confirms parts availability and customer care throughout that period, which should keep daily operation consistent and hassle-free long after this generation leaves the assembly line. For an electric pickup, that level of commitment is a reassuring baseline.
