Volkswagen is gradually sharing details about the new electric crossover ID.Unyx 08, which is headed for the Chinese market. The model is positioned as a mid-to-large, all-electric SUV and is set to be among the brand’s longest-range offerings.

The ID.Unyx 08 will be available with two battery options—82.4 and 95.0 kWh. Depending on configuration, the claimed range is 630, 700, or up to 730 km on the Chinese cycle. The electric motor delivers 230 kW, equal to 308 horsepower. The key highlight is the 800-volt architecture, which allows significantly shorter fast-charging stops—especially important for a large EV and a clear boost to day-to-day usability.

On the outside, the crossover adopts Volkswagen’s new design language for China. Slim daytime running lights, a closed-off front without a traditional grille, and flush door handles emphasize its electric character. The ID.Unyx 08 stretches to 5 meters in length, and a 3030 mm wheelbase hints at a roomy cabin.

The equipment list includes an advanced L2++ driver-assistance suite, a park-to-park function, an intelligent assistant with AI elements, and full over-the-air updates. Together, these features aim to ease daily driving and keep the car’s systems up to date.

All of this aligns with Volkswagen’s strategy to expand its electric lineup in China: by 2030, the company plans to bring the number of EV models close to 30.
