China is gearing up for the debut of the updated long-range BYD Song Pro DM-i, with sales set to begin on January 10, 2026. The headline upgrade is a jump in electric-only range on the CLTC cycle to 200 km. For context, the current 2026 model-year Song Pro DM-i is rated at 133 km, and prices in China start at roughly 102,800 yuan.Early information suggests the Long Range version won’t stray far from the familiar formula in terms of exterior and cabin: the layout and styling should remain close to the current lineup. Signature touches like the active grille and conventional door handles stay on, while mid and top trims continue to offer the DiPilot 100 driver-assistance suite (in China known as “Tian Shen Zhi Yan C”).The current model’s key specs are already known: dimensions are 4735x1860x1690 mm with a 2712 mm wheelbase. The plug-in hybrid setup pairs a 1.5-liter engine rated at 74 kW with a 120 kW electric motor. It uses an 18.3 kWh LFP battery, delivering those 133 km on CLTC. If the 200 km claim is confirmed, the Song Pro DM-i will feel notably more convenient for a “city without gasoline” kind of routine, nudging it deeper into the territory of the most value-focused PHEVs in its class.
