Volvo has unveiled a significant update for its EX30, the brand's most compact premium electric crossover. The refresh covers powertrains, design, multimedia systems, and functionality. The model now offers new available motors, an improved user interface, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) support, which allows the car to serve as an external power source. Some of these features will also become available to current owners through free over-the-air updates.

The lineup now includes a new 110 kW powertrain paired with a 51 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 339 km on the European WLTP cycle—a solution tailored for urban and suburban driving. For those who frequently travel longer distances, a 69 kWh battery option offers up to 476 km of range. The Cross Country variant has been expanded too, with the addition of a Plus trim and a more economical single-motor version.

A key highlight is the completely redesigned user experience. The settings menu has been simplified, and the command panel is now customizable, making the interface more intuitive. With V2L capability, the EX30 essentially becomes a portable power station, capable of running power tools, household appliances, audio systems, or charging an e-bike—all with a simple adapter.

Volvo has also introduced two new interior color options. "Harvest" features a warm, light palette with recycled textiles and Nordico materials, while "Black" offers a fully dark theme with subtle contrasts. The Black Edition lineup now includes this new black interior, with exterior colors like Onyx Black, Vapour Grey, and Crystal White available.

Volvo points out that the EX30 remains a key growth driver for the brand in the affordable premium electric vehicle segment. These updates enhance the model's appeal and broaden its audience by bringing technologies previously seen in higher-end models to a more accessible level.
