Renault has announced the expansion of its Duster and Bigster lineups with a new all-wheel-drive hybrid version. The automaker is focusing on an "affordable adventure" concept, boosting the off-road capability of these models while maintaining their efficiency. The Hybrid 150 4x4 is powered by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. A gasoline engine delivers 110 kW and 230 Nm, supplemented by an electric motor that adds another 87 Nm. Power is sent to both axles via a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission, which includes paddle shifters for manual gear selection. The system also allows for electric-only driving in certain modes. It is not yet confirmed whether this variant will be available in all markets. The updated Duster already offers E-Tech 160, Turbo TCe 100, and Turbo TCe 160 powertrains. The E-Tech hybrid combines a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery, producing a total of 118 kW. The non-electrified turbo versions output from 74 kW to 118 kW.The introduction of the Hybrid 150 4x4 will strengthen the Duster's position as one of the most versatile players in the affordable crossover segment. For Renault, this move helps meet environmental standards while preserving the model's key competitive advantage: a full all-wheel-drive system in a mass-market offering.
