The U.S. presidential motorcade has added new SUVs. The Secret Service unveiled two specially prepared Cadillac Escalades for situations where the armored presidential limousine—known as "The Beast"—cannot travel.

These new vehicles, called the Camp Package, are designed for navigating challenging terrain and complement the primary presidential transport. They were first shown publicly during the World Economic Forum in Davos, but details have only emerged recently.

Visually, the vehicles resemble the previous-generation Cadillac Escalade. Secret Service officials describe them simply as full-size SUVs with Cadillac branding. They may be built on the Chevrolet Suburban platform, since GM models share common architecture.

Exact specifications and protection levels remain undisclosed. However, reinforced window frames, heavy eight-lug wheels, and a massive construction suggest serious armor protection.

The Secret Service has used similar SUVs before—for instance, Chevrolet Suburban-based vehicles for presidential travel on difficult routes. The new Escalades continue this tradition, serving as the off-road complement to the famous presidential limousine.
