The Testarossa name returns after nearly three decades. The last car to bear this name—the Ferrari F512 M—ended production in 1996. Now, the legendary name has reappeared in Ferrari's lineup. Ferrari unveiled its new flagship supercar, the 849 Testarossa, in India. Priced at 10.37 crore rupees (over $1.1 million) without options, it becomes the brand's new flagship, replacing the SF90 Stradale globally. This model features a hybrid powertrain, making it one of the most powerful road cars in the Italian brand's history.

The new Ferrari 849 Testarossa is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine, working alongside three electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. Combined system output reaches approximately 1,050 horsepower.

Thanks to the hybrid system, the supercar can operate in fully electric mode. Electric-only range is about 25 kilometers in urban conditions. The electric motors also drive the front axle, improving traction distribution and handling.

Performance matches that of modern hypercars. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes under 2.3 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 330 km/h.

Design of the new car draws inspiration from the original 1980s Testarossa. Ferrari has retained the characteristic wide proportions and expressive silhouette, enhanced with modern aerodynamics and more aggressive body lines. Active aerodynamic elements can generate over 400 kg of downforce.

The model features modern electronic chassis control systems, a traction distribution system, and high-performance brakes. In the future, the company may also introduce a Spider version with an open top.

Production of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa will be limited. Most cars are expected to be sold to the brand's existing clients, making it one of Ferrari's most exclusive recent releases.
