Xiaomi is strengthening its position in the electric vehicle market and preparing to launch the high-performance YU7 GT crossover. The new model has already appeared in the database of the Chinese regulator and promises to be one of the most powerful cars in its class in 2026.

The model is equipped with a 101.7 kWh battery, which provides up to 705 km of range. Even the base figures look confident—around 650 km on a cycle, which matches the level of the best modern electric cars.

The main feature is the powertrain. Two electric motors deliver a combined 738 kW, equivalent to 990 horsepower. The top speed reaches 300 km/h, placing the crossover in the category of ultra-powerful models comparable to sports cars.

The design follows a coupe-SUV style with an emphasis on aerodynamics: narrow LED optics, hidden door handles, wide wheel arches, and active elements. The installation of lidars and a wide range of customization options are also announced.

In terms of dimensions, the model is large: over 5 meters in length and a 3-meter wheelbase, hinting at a spacious interior and premium positioning.

Interestingly, Xiaomi is essentially transferring its smartphone philosophy to the automotive segment: maximum specifications at a relatively competitive price. But unlike traditional automakers, the bet here is not on gradual evolution but on a sharp leap—directly into the ultra-powerful EV segment. This changes the rules: now even mass-market brands are starting to play in territory where only premium and niche manufacturers previously dominated.
