At a special event where the company revealed initial details about the all-new 2027 Chevrolet Sonic crossover, the vice president of the automaker's South American division officially stated that the new Sonic will become Brazil's best-selling compact crossover.

The vice president of GM in South America, Fabio Rua, explained that the new Chevrolet Sonic was developed based on a clear strategic decision: to compete seriously in one of the market's most competitive segments—compact SUVs. He confidently added that it will be the top-selling compact SUV in Brazil.

This marks the first glimpse into the commercial strategy prepared by Chevrolet for its most important launch of the year in the country. Consequently, the company forecasts that the Sonic will significantly impact the Brazilian market and lead one of the nation's fastest-growing segments.

The new 2027 Chevrolet Sonic crossover will debut globally and go on sale in Brazil in the second quarter of this year. Production of the new model is set to begin soon at GM's Gravataí plant in Brazil, supplying the Brazilian market and enabling GM to export to other countries in the region.
