BMW Welt cuts the ritual: a shorter handover ceremony in Munich for 790 euros

BMW Welt in Munich has introduced a new entry-level vehicle handover option — Compact Package. It costs 790 euros ($914; 65,600 rubles at the current rate) and is noticeably cheaper than the existing Premium package at 960 euros ($1,111; 79,800 rubles) and Exclusive package at 1,320 euros ($1,528; 109,700 rubles).

The point of the new offer is not to strip away the BMW Welt atmosphere, but to make it shorter and more accessible for those who have already been through the full ceremony before. The buyer still gets all-day access to the Premium Lounge, drinks and a buffet. The car is partially fuelled before handover, and a BMW specialist walks the owner through the key features.

The main difference is duration. The Compact Package handover takes 50 minutes. Premium Package allows 70 minutes, Exclusive Package — 90 minutes. The new option drops the virtual presentation but keeps a 15-minute digital workshop.

For those who want the full treatment, BMW Welt keeps the premium track: Exclusive Package can be upgraded with a separate Exclusive Privacy Room for 249 euros. That bundle comes to 1,569 euros ($1,816; 130,400 rubles) and includes an extended set of services: a transfer, guided tours and dinner for two.

The BMW Welt vehicle handover programme has been running since 2007, and more than 280,000 cars have passed through it over the years. The new package proves a simple point: even a premium ritual has to adapt to clients who care about the emotion but don’t need the full show every time.
